Did you know that since April 2002 it has been a legal requirement under part L2 of the Building Regulations to demonstrate the satisfactory construction of all non-dwelling buildings with a gross floor area of over 1,000m² by carrying out a building air tightness test? Did you also know that from April 2006 this requirement is likely to apply to all non-dwelling buildings with a gross floor area of more than 500m², and that even buildings smaller than 500m² should be tested to avoid enhancements in other areas to satisfy the Building Regulations? If you require assistance in meeting this requirement in either a pre-construction, testing or post-testing capacity, contacting Building Energy Performance should be your next step.
